The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) will digitalize and publish articles of its journals back to the first issues under the sponsorship of the Japanese government. The journals are "Nippon Kagaku Kaishi (Journal of the Chemical Society of Japan)" and its predecessors, "Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan" and "Chemistry Letters".
Although it is now clearly stated that the copyright of the published articles belong to CSJ in the notice for the submitters of papers to these journals, there exists a certain period when such notification was not apparently practiced. The issues of the journals that fall into such period are shown below.
- Tokyo Kagaku Kaishi 1880-1920
- Nippon Kagaku Kaishi 1921-1947
- Nippon Kagaku Zasshi 1948-1971
- Kogyo Kagaku Zasshi 1898-1971
- Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan 1926-1962
CSJ, however, assumes that the copyright of the articles published in the above shown journals also belong to CSJ, and will carry out the publication of these articles. This does not limit the use of the articles by the authors themselves. If the authors of an article of said journals, or his or her bereaved have any objection to this assumption, please contact us at the following address by no later than March 31, 2006.
