Prolonged photolysis of [MoVI7O24]6− in aqueous solutions provides the formation of anti-tumoral [H2MoV12O28(OH)12(MoVIO3)4]6− species, the core of which is the well-known ε-isomer ({ε-MoV12}) of the Keggin anion. It is also suggested that the formation of α-Keggin {MoVI12} accompanies photolysis.

This account article describes the synthesis of a cyclic benzenoid system, [10]cyclophenacene, through a one-step deca-fold addition reaction to [60]fullerene, and its metal complex, double-decker buckyferrocene [(FeCp)2(C60Me10)]. Theoretical studies on the electronic structures of finite-length single-walled carbon nanotubes are also described with respect to the structure of the cyclophenacenes.
