Biomass Carbon Ratio of Biomass Chemicals Measured by Accelerator Mass Spectrometry
M. Funabashi,* F. Ninomiya, M. Kunioka, and K. Ohara
[Full Text PDF(J-STAGE)] Open Access Article
Biomass carbon ratios of various chemicals from biomass and petroleum were evaluated by radioisotope 14C measurement using accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). Sample preparations of liquids, gases, and carbonates for the AMS were developed and confirmed.

Circular Dichroism and Absorption Spectroscopy for Three-Membered Ring Compounds Using Symmetry-Adapted Cluster-Configuration Interaction (SAC-CI) Method
T. Miyahara, J. Hasegawa, and H. Nakatsuji*
[Full Text PDF(J-STAGE)] Open Access Article
|
Both the CD and UV spectra of oxirane and thiirane derivatives obtained with the SAC-CI method were in good agreement with the experimental spectra. The rotatory strengths of the CD spectra were calculated in the velocity form.

Behavior of Glass and Supercooled Liquid Alkylbenzenes Vapor-Deposited on Cold Substrates: Toward the Understanding of the Curious Light Scattering Observed in Some Supercooled Liquid States
K. Ishii,* H. Nakayama, R. Moriyama, and Y. Yokoyama
[Full Text PDF(J-STAGE)] Open Access Article
|
A hypothesis assuming a liquid–liquid structural transformation is proposed to explain the cause of the curious light scattering observed for supercooled liquid states of vapor-deposited samples of ethylbenzene and related compounds.

Stability Constants of Metal(II) Complexes with Amines and Aminocarboxylates with Special Reference to Chelation
M. Tanaka* and M. Tabata*
[Full Text PDF(J-STAGE)] [Supporting Information] Open Access Article
The equations are utilized to calculate the stability constants of binary and ternary CuII complexes of amine(s) or aminocarboxylates and extended to predict stability constants of polyamine and aminocarboxylate chelates.

Gallosilicate-Based Catalysts for NOx-SCR with CH4
K. Nagashima, S. Nakamura, K. Okada, A. Nakahira, and H. Aritani*
[Full Text PDF(J-STAGE)] Open Access Article
|
Ga-incorporated H-MFI (GaMFI) metallosilicate catalysts show robust activity for selective catalytic reduction of NOx (NOx-SCR) with CH4. Local structure around Ga in GaMFI is very stable, but distorted Si–O4 local structure is formed after the NOx-SCR with CH4.
