Other Chemistry Exhibitions

The Chemical Society of Japan

In addition to the major exhibitions previously described, many middle and small-scale Chemistry Exhibitions have been held at the CSJ Headquarters and at Branches. A few of them are mentioned below.

The Tohoku Branch holds Chemistry Exhibitions every 5 to 7 years at the Sendai Science Museum, which also acts as a cosponsor. The latest one was in the summer of 2001. 25,000 visitors attended the exhibition during its four-week run.

The Chugoku-Shikoku Branch holds a Chemistry Exhibition every year in different cities, receiving visitors in the range of 6,000 to 10,000 per year.

The Headquarters also holds Mini-Exhibitions. In August 2002 the "Chemistry Makes Our Dreams Come True" project held one such exhibition at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (MeSci), for which the Museum was a cosponsor. More than 5,000 people visited the exhibition in three days. In the year 2003, most Branches organized Mini-Exhibitions as commemorative events of the CSJ 125th Anniversary.
