Over three days from October 15th to the 17th, the 17MCC was hosted by the Malaysian Chemical Society in Kuala Lampur. Additionally, the Malaysian and Cambodian Chemical Societies jointly held the CMCC in Siem Reap, Cambodia from October 19th to the 21st. The Cambodian Chemical Society was founded only a few years ago, so this time the conference was held with the support of the Malaysian Chemical Society and the cooperation of FACS (Federation of Asian Chemical Societies).
One important aim of the Chemical Society of Japan is to strengthen international collaboration, and in particular increase our presence in Asia. This time, under the leadership of Tamotsu Takahashi, CSJ International Relations Committee Chair and Hokkaido University Professor, over 100 people from Japan attended 17MCC (total registration 380) and over 60 attended CMCC (total registration 210), made presentations, and showed Japanese support. Additionally, the Chemical Society of Japan paid respects and presented a memorial plaque to the co-sponsors of CMCC, the Malaysian and Cambodian Chemical Societies.
We thank all those lecturers who participated.
